Joe Tonto, (played by Sylvester Stallone), is lured back to racing after a tragic accident with the promise of driving again, only to discover that he is supposed to help a fast-rising rookie wunderkind (Kip Pardue) who has fallen from the top rankings by mid-season. Set in the world of open-wheel championship racing, "Champs" will feature cameos of many of the top racers today, including Juan Montoya, Michael Andretti and Dario Franchitti, among others.
