"CHICAGO" is the film version of Bob Fosse's celebrated Tony Award winning hit Broadway Musical by the same name. Set in 1929 Chicago, the film tells the story of the improbable rise and fall and rise of an ambitious chorus girl, Roxie Hart, (Renee Zellweger - "Bridgett Jones's Diary" & "Jerry Maguire"). When a charming con man, Fred Casely, who promises to make her a vaudeville star, dumps her, she kills him in a rage and attempts to get her sad sack husband, Amos (John C. Reilly - "The Perfect Storm" & "Magnolia") to take the blame. The ambitious DA, Harrison (Colm Feore - "Pearl Harbor" & "The Insider") sees through the ruse and soon Roxie finds herself in the Cook County Jail awaiting trial for murder.

There she meets the wily, but venal Warden Mama Morton (Queen Latifah - "The Bone Collector" & "Living Out Loud") and the rest of her celebrity convicts led by the reigning Murderess of the Month, Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones - "America's Sweethearts" & "Traffic"). Velma and Roxie battle it out to win the dubious affections of Chicago's most notorious criminal lawyer, Billy Flynn (Richard Gere - "Runaway Bride" & "Pretty Woman") and to stay atop the screaming tabloid headlines. All of the musical mayhem is set to the syncopated jazz score of Kander & Ebb, with all the style and attitude of Bob Fosse as interpreted by Director Rob Marshall ("Annie" & Broadway's "Cabaret").
