“Some Things That Stay” is a witty, compelling, quietly defiant female coming of age story set in 1954. Tamara Anderson’s unconventional family move every year, in support of her father, a painter. Her mother contracts tuberculosis and has to move to a sanatorium while her Father has to leave on a business trip. Tamara (Katie Boland) is left alone to care for her younger siblings. She develops a special relationship with the mother of the ‘dead boy’ who died in her bed and also experiences first love with the neighborhood boy (Kevin Zegers). “Some Things That Stay” is painfully honest with a profound understanding of adolescent longing, family dynamics, love and loss.
