New Netflix Series ‘Between’ Gets Release Date, First Trailer Revealed

April 16, 2015

The series focuses on a disease outbreak in a small town

Netflix has announced the release date and unveiled the first promo for its new series “Between.”

The show follows a pregnant teenager, played by Jennette McCurdy, living in the small town of Pretty Lake, which has been devastated by a disease that kills anyone over the age of 21.

In the video, the government steps in to institute a quarantine after over 30 residents of the idyllic town die in a matter of days. The townspeople are understandably frightened, unsure of where the disease came from and how quickly it will continue to spread.

The show will debut on May 21. McCurdy, formerly a star of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly,” made the announcement on her Twitter account accompanied by the video.

However, unlike other Netflix series, “Between” will be released one episode per week, as opposed to the entire season at once. The show’s release schedule is attributable to the fact that the show is a Canadian co-production, and Canada’s City has the first air viewing rights. Each episode will be made available on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
