Peacock Alley, Don Carmody TV Strike Distribution Pact

March 28, 2014

Peacock Alley Entertainment has joined up with Don Carmody Television to coproduce two new series in development.

As part of the new pact unveiled ahead of MIPTV, Peacock Alley Entertainment will handle international distribution for two programs developed by Don Carmody Television: the sci-fi drama Echoes, and Between, a survivalist drama that Michael McGowan (One Week, Still Mine) has signed on to write and direct.

Peacock Alley Entertainment will also help raise international financing for the two series.

“The Peacock Alley team and Carrie (Mudd) have an incredible capacity to bring a major financial contribution towards these two series, while sharing broad international expertise and access to the most robust international broadcast partners,” David Cormican, EVP of Don Carmody Television, said in a statement.

Echoes, an original sci-fi series from the veteran VFX team and co-creators Ken Kabatoff, Andrew Karr, Mark Savela and Craig Van Den Biggelaar, has Stargate‘s Carl Binder on board to showrun and write the pilot episode.

The series is in development with Bell Media.

Don Carmody, Cormican, Binder and the series creators will executive produce Echoes.

Set in the year 2021, Echoes follows the journey of Sonya, a young woman desperately trying to survive after two warring extra-terrestrial species intergalactic battle collides into Earth, where humans are the collateral damage caught in the crossfire of the new battlefield.

Between, a one-hour drama from Don Carmody Television, Peacock Alley and McGowan’s Mulmur Feed Co., is a serialized survivalist drama.

Between portrays three young men battling a viral breakout in quarantined Pretty Lake as the death toll mounts and conspiracies multiply.

Don Carmody Television was launched last year as a partnership between Don Carmody, the veteran movie producer, Cormican, a former Mind’s Eye Entertainment exec, and John Barrack, former COO at the CMPA and now at marblemedia.
